All the different pieces are handcrafted using traditional methods. The fuel used to fire the pieces—organic materials, such as almond shells and olive pits—does not
contaminate in any way. This fuel allows us to bring out the authentic flamed colour of the clay from this area. In this respect, no two pieces are alike.
The elements used to produce our earthenware are clay, water and fire. These three elements, in addition to the expert hands of our craftsmen, are combined to create
our products.
Once we have achieved the optimum mix of water and clay, it is spread out, removed and washed in the different moulds. After a few days, when the clay
is a little harder, it is washed again and, once the piece has settled, it is left to dry in the open air under very specific circumstances (no exposure to direct
sunlight or strong winds). Once dry, the edges are filed and the pieces are placed in the kiln. A slow firing process is used and the temperature reaches 1050 ºC.
Once the pieces have been fired they are classified one by one and prepared for packaging. Defective pieces are withdrawn.
